CLASSES & SCHEDULE
BEGINNER INTRODUCTION
Introduction Class (Free): We welcome and encourage all individuals new to Kendo to observe, practice and meet with our club members and instructors.
Beginners Pack (Three Classes $100): If you feel Kendo is right for you, you will start with our beginner classes where you will receive individual guidance, support and instruction from our experienced and friendly instructors.
Please wear comfortable clothing for practice. Once ready, we will guide you on your purchase of your first set of uniform and equipment!
Schedule: Every Saturday 2:00 to 4:00 PM
One Time Dojo Registration Fee (Adults $100, Youth 4-17 $50): Once you decide to join our dojo as an official member, there is a one time, non-refundable registration fee. Welcome and we look forward to growing our Kendo journey together!

YOUTH KENDO CLASS (AGES 4 TO 8)
Primarily led and programmed by Kosakaya Sensei, our
Youth Classes are a great way to start your little ones to Kendo in a safe and engaging environment!Children will learn basic Japanese terminology, reiho (system of etiquette and manners), reigi (system of courtesy and respect) and will be provided utmost attention and enthusiastic guidance.
Please refer to the ‘Beginner Introduction’ to the left on how to start your child(ren) at our dojo.
Parents and guardians, please be aware that a Dojo Application form needs to be completed for your child(ren) for record and safety purposes. All information is kept strictly private.

Monthly Membership Fee for Youth Ages 4-17:
$120. Family discount applied for family of three or more (3rd+ person $60). Monthly fees are required to maintain membership at our club.
KENDO CLASS (AGES 9 AND UP)
Led by Yoshino, Koyama or Kosakaya Sensei.
Our instructors have created structured classes catered to for levels and ages. Whether your Kendo journey is to pursue physical health, community, or competition, our classes will help develop your skill and spirit.
Upon joining, new members are required to fill out our Dojo Application Form for record and safety purposes. All information is kept strictly private.
All members are required to register with the All United States Kendo Federation.
Schedule: Every Saturday 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Subject to change

OUR DOJO
Brooklyn Kenyukai is a member of the All Eastern United States Kendo Federation (AEUSKF) and the All United States Kendo Federation (AUSKF). The AUSKF, the official governing body for the martial art of Kendo in the U.S. It is a non-profit organization that coordinates national kendo activities, organizes tournaments, oversees high-level examinations, and represents the U.S. in the International Kendo Federation (FIK).
All instructors are registered with and have successfully obtained their ranks through shinsa (promotional examination) under an affiliated FIK organization (All United States Kendo Federation and/or the All Japan Kendo Federation). All instructors have completed courses and training under SafeSport.
Our dojo welcomes all; regardless of race, gender and background. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, bullying nor harassment.
All fees are to help cover space costs and necessary dojo upkeep. Please kindly be aware that our dojo is proudly maintained by our team of dedicated volunteers.

当道場は、全米東部剣道連盟(AEUSKF)および全米剣道連盟(AUSKF)に加盟しています。AUSKFは、アメリカにおける剣道の公式統括団体であり、全国規模での剣道活動の運営、大会の開催、昇段審査の監督、そして国際剣道連盟(FIK)へのアメリカ代表としての活動を行う非営利団体です。
当道場のすべての指導者は、FIK加盟団体(全米剣道連盟または全日本剣道連盟)に正式登録され、昇段審査に合格しています。また、SafeSportの講習および研修を修了しています。
ブルックリン剣友会では、人種、性別、経歴を問わず、どなたでも歓迎いたします。いかなる差別、いじめ、ハラスメントも容認いたしません。
会費はすべて、道場の維持および練習場所の運営費に充てられています。当道場は、献身的なボランティア運営チームが、誇りを持って運営しております。
